ハルシャギク属(Coreopsis)の園芸種。
　多年草、高さ20～60+㎝。節間（中間の茎）は長さ15～40(～60)㎜。葉柄は長さ0～1㎜。葉身は普通、3小葉、単葉又は小葉は全縁又は鳥足状に3～9+個に分裂し、裂片は線形～糸状、長さ 5～25(～45+)㎜、幅 0.5～1(～2) ㎜。花序柄は長さ2～5(～8+)㎝。副咢は8個の線形の小苞、長さ 3～5(～9)㎜。総苞片は8個、槍状卵形、長さ6～7㎜。周辺小花の小舌は長さ12～20㎜。中心小花は30～40+個、花冠は黄色(ときに乾くと帯黒色)、長さ3.5～5.5㎜、痩果は倒卵形～長楕円形、長さ3.5～4㎜。2n = 26, 52, 78. 。花期は6～7(9)月。
