コリウス・テラノバ・マラケシュはシソ科コリウス属のキランジソ系統の園芸種。キランジソ系統の園芸種はコリウスと呼ばれ、葉の観賞用に世界中で栽培されている。非常に多くの園芸品種がある。キランジソの学名はプレクトランサス属のPlectranthus scutellarioidesとされることもあったがDNA系統学の研究により、コリウス属のColeus scutellarioidesとされている。
　Terra Nova® 'Marrakesh'　テラノバ・マラケシュはアメリカのオハイオ州にあるTerra Nova Nurseriesが作り出した品種で、ポピュラーになりつつある。
　高さ45～60㎝、葉が不規則に1～3裂し、黄色に赤色の斑紋が美しい。赤色の斑紋は脈状になったり、幅広くなったり変化する。コリウスの品種は葉が卵形が基本であるが、分裂するものや、幅の狭いもの、小さいものなどがある。

　日本(南西諸島)、中国(福建省、広東省、広西チワン族自治区)、台湾、インド、ミャンマー、カンボジア、ラオス、タイ、ベトナム、マレーシア、フィリピン、インドネシア(ボルネオ、ジャワ、小スンダ列島、スマトラ、マルク、スラウェシ)、ニューギニア、太平洋諸島(ビスマルク諸島、ソロモン諸島、バヌアツ)、オーストラリア(ノーザンテリトリー、クイーンズランド、西オーストラリア州)原産。英名はcoleus , common coleus , painted nettle。中国名は五彩苏 wu cai su。別名はコリウス、ニシキジソ(錦紫蘇)、サヤバナ、キンランジソ。川岸、空き地、丘陵、野原、森林に生える。中国の全省で栽培されている。POWOでは日本(南西諸島)を含めている。
　草本、直立又は斜上、高さ0.5～1.5m、芳香がある。茎は普通、紫色、微軟毛があり、分枝する。葉柄は長さ1～5㎝。葉身は卵形、長さ4～12.5㎝×幅2.5～9㎝、膜質、黄色、暗赤色、紫色、又は緑色、微軟毛があり、下面にまばらに赤褐色の腺があり、基部は広楔形～円形、縁は円鋸歯状鋸歯～円鋸歯、先は鈍形～短い尖鋭形。円錐花序は長5～10(～25)㎝×幅3～5(～8)㎝、微軟毛がある。輪散花序は花が、多数つき、直径約1.5㎝。苞は脱落性、広卵形、長さ2～3㎜、尾形、腺がある。花柄は長さ約2㎜。萼は鐘形、花時に長さ2～3㎜、果時に長さ7㎜以下、10脈があり、微細な粗毛があり、腺がある。萼の上唇の中萼片は広卵形、果時に後屈し、側萼片は卵形、中萼片の長さの約1/2。萼の下唇は菱形、上唇より長く、萼片は狭三角形。花冠は紫色～青色、長さ0.8～1.3㎝微軟毛があり、筒部は急に反曲し、のど部は幅2.5㎜以下。花冠の上唇は直立する。雄しべは2対。小堅果は褐色、広卵形～球形、長さ1～1.2㎜、扁平、光沢がある。花期は7月頃(6～10月)。
